About The Institute of Internal Auditors and the Internal Audit Profession
Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and advisory service designed to add value and improve an organization’s operations. It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes.
The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) is an international professional association that serves more than 260,000 global members and has awarded more than 200,000 Certified Internal Auditor© (CIA©) certifications worldwide. Established in 1941, The IIA is recognized throughout the world as the internal audit profession’s leader in standards, certifications, education, research, and technical guidance. Secretariat for the Asian Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (ACIIA)
ACIIA is a confederation of seventeen (17) IIA affiliates in the Asia Pacific; Australia, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taiwan, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Thailand. It was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia in February 2006.
Our Affiliation to the IIA, USA
IIA Malaysia is affiliated to The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc (The IIA), USA, a worldwide body founded in 1941 by a small group of dedicated internal auditors who wanted an organisation that would represent their profession and provide educational activities and standards for the professional practice of internal auditing. Through our affiliation our members are able to share in a collective wisdom of more than 201,000 members in over 269 countries and North America Chapters.
